Tank types vary considerably in the way they foul, the way they can be accessed and the level of cleaning required before the asset can return to service or move to the next engineering stage. A potable water tank with sediment at low level presents a different problem from a process tank carrying polymer, a fuel tank with sludge and water at the bottom, or a wastewater vessel with heavy biological build-up. For that reason, the technical route into a tank-cleaning job should start with the asset type and residue profile rather than a fixed assumptions-based method.

Mantank supports industrial and commercial clients across a wide range of tank types, planning each clean around the stored medium, the likely contaminants, the access constraints and the reason the tank is being taken out of service. Some tanks require routine internal cleaning to maintain reliability. Others need preparation for inspection, repair, product change, decontamination or decommissioning. The cleaning method may involve pressure jetting, vacuum transfer, sludge breakup, manual clean-down or non-entry equipment depending on the asset and the residue involved.

What matters in practice is leaving the tank in a defined condition for the next stage of work. That might mean reduced sludge depth, clear access to fittings and shell surfaces, removal of contamination from low points or safe transfer of the residues generated during the clean.
